Mid-Century Modern
Mid-Century Modern is an American design movement in interior, product, graphic design, architecture, and urban development that was popular from roughly 1945 to 1969, during the United States's post–World War II period. This style is known for the most iconic furniture pieces in modern design. It differs from other furniture styles by featuring minimalist silhouettes, sophisticated lines, handmade and hand-painted elements. It normally is done in natural wood finishes (mainly oak, pine, brown walnut an maple), solid colors upholstery with unadorned design and few ornamental details. Clover & Dash can help you to select pieces for your rooms, build custom pieces or refinish/restore what you already own. Contact us for information or check availability at the store.
Live edge
Live edge is a mixture of "Western" and rustic furniture styles. Originally categorized as rustic, it is considered now a style by itself. The live edge style of furniture is characterized by pieces that incorporate the natural edge of the wood into the final design of the furniture. Live edge furniture often incorporates gnarly wood, such as Alligator Juniper, mesquite, Vachellia nilotica and salvaged wood that could not be used in conventional woodworking. There are special challenges involved in working with this type of wood, and several methods for live edge have been developed. Some leave the natural holes and cracks in the wood while other artists fill them with resins. Clover & Dash can design and produce one of kind live edge pieces custom made for your needs.
